Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 September 2026
Draft notice: this is a first draft written to reflect how Kithra actually works today. It has not been reviewed by a solicitor and should not be relied on for real paying customers until it has been. Placeholders in brackets need filling in first.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and Kithra ([PLACEHOLDER — Companies House number once incorporated], registered office [PLACEHOLDER — registered office address]). By creating an account, you agree to them.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to hold a payment card in your own name to use this service.
3. What the service is
Kithra is a subscription social network for connecting with people you already know. There is no advertising, no public content feed, and no selling of your data — that's a permanent commitment, not a launch feature. You can only see and interact with content from connections you've mutually confirmed.
4. Subscription and billing
- New accounts get a 3 months free trial from signup — no payment card required to start using the app.
- After the trial, continuing to use the service costs £3.99/month, billed automatically by Stripe once you add a payment method. You'll get a reminder email before your first charge.
- You can cancel at any time from your account's billing page — this stops future billing immediately; you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We do not require you to contact support to cancel.
- Refunds: if you're unhappy with a charge, contact [PLACEHOLDER — e.g. support@yourdomain.com] within 14 days and we'll consider it case by case. This doesn't affect your other legal rights as a UK consumer.
5. Your content
You own what you post. By posting it, you give us the limited licence we need to store it and show it to the connections you've chosen — nothing more. We don't use your content for advertising, and we don't license it to anyone else.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Post illegal content, or content that violates others' rights
- Impersonate another person
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to access the service other than through the normal app
We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules. If you believe someone else has, contact [PLACEHOLDER — e.g. support@yourdomain.com] — a dedicated in-app reporting tool is planned but not built yet.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from account settings — this is immediate and permanent, and removes your profile, posts, comments, connections, and messages. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches section 6.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep the service running reliably but don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free — this is a small, actively developed product. We'll do our reasonable best to give notice of planned downtime.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for things the law doesn't allow us to limit (like death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud). Beyond that, our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or an in-app notice before they take effect.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
12. Contact
